African Monarch Lodges’ Nambwa Tented Lodge and Kazile Island Lodge is a Joint Venture Collection located in the Bwabwata National Park, Eastern Zambezi Region, Namibia, in the heart of KAZA, the World’s Largest Conservation Area. Nambwa Tented Lodge is is nestled high amongst majestic trees, honoring the elephants' right of way below. An authentic walkway joins ten decadently spacious tented suites, which emanate a feeling of vastness and evoke a gentle balance of serenity. Kazile Island Lodge is situated on an exclusive island on the banks of the Kwando River. The Lodge offers thirteen Meru tents nestled within a Mangosteen forest and can only be reached by boat. The Sijwa Project, is the re-purposing and re-inventing of all recyclable waste from Kazile and Nambwa into exquisite saleable crafts. The Sijwa Project is a bold, multi-faceted and sustainable project which includes an organic permaculture nursery, worm farm, Glass and Allumium Recycling Workshops, a sewing training center, a junior sewing academy, a cultural village, beehive project, free-range egg scheme, junior ranger training centre, plus an indigenous tree nursery. The Sijwa Project empowers the local community by creating jobs, preserving traditional knowledge, teaching skills and conserving the surrounding environment through a variety of proposed activities.
